Can you keep a secret?
I have a confession to make.
If I tell you, you CANNOT let my kids know...especially not my 5-year-old, Big T. It could ruin my life!
Okay...here it is.
I like keeping Big T home from school on occasion.
I said "on occasion". (I'm not crazy - well, only on buses and you can read about that HERE)
Ever since Kindergarten started for Big T this past September, the morning routine - to put it crudely - kicks my ass. It doesn't help that I stay up so late every night
Yesterday he hurt his upper thigh when he fell in gym. Not bad...just a little muscle strain...possibly the groin (ouch!). So when he said he couldn't go to school today because his leg hurt (and he thought he might need a wheelchair) I didn't contemplate it too much. Possibly I was being a tad selfish.
A break from the morning rush??
I can stay in my jammies??
(Oh, and of course he should rest his leg)
One of my best girlfriends who is also a SAHM is in total agreement with me and we anticipate ProD days like it's some long-awaited holiday (only without the beach).
A lot of mom's would disagree, I know. They'll go through the morning rush ten times over if it means having the rest of the day to do what they want. But I still have a 3-year-old at home, so my hour and a half break when he's in preschool two days a week is golden...
...and so is the odd pj day at home!
I know one person who would agree with me...

OK, I'm reading this in my flannel pajama pants! I have the same routine. I've been staying up much too late, often blogging. And once I'm done with that I need to stay up later because I'm basking in my alone time.
Lucky for me, my kids are in year-round school and still have one more week without school to go!
Now if I could just get my 3-yr-old to stop waking me up at the crack of dawn demanding breakfast. :)
Hopefully you can sleep in over the weekend!
Haha I hate the morning routine sooooo much!!! thanks for following I'm now following back!
What is this thing you speak of...sleep? Maybe on Mother's Day...MAYBE! Mine don't let me sleep much and I live in my flannel pj pants...all year 'round just about.
Phew, I'm not alone! Thanks!
Oh, that's good. Love the pic. Too funny. Though I confess, drives me nuts when the boys are home sick. Then again, they're both in school, so I'd rather cope through the morning rush to get the day to myself! Because if one is sick, I still have to get the other to school anyway. Thanks for stopping by from grumpyvgrateful. Love that lady.
haha too funny! I know the feeling of dreading the waking up for school day though! My son loves school too much though (he's in JK lol). He's always devastated if he's sick and has to stay home! hehe

That was nice of you. I hope you guys had fun!!
I love the days when my little guy is sick and has to stay home. I don't dread the morning routine as much as I just love that snuggle, one-on-one time. He's the baby and I'm not ready for him to grow up, so I'm pretty willing to let him stay home if he so much as hints at not feeling good lol!! I totally agree with you!
that is a very nice photo of hef
I believe in doing this, too. Or in letting my kids sleep in and take them to school late instead of waking them up and rushing them out the door if they had a late night the night before.
lol i promise to keep your secret and will happily hand you one of my two crazy toddlers for a day if you have the need to stay in jammies. LOL great post girl. thanks for connecting on twitter and leading me here. looking forward to your future posts!
My girls never want to stay home. Some days I just look at them sleeping so peacefully and think "What would it hurt to keep them home today?" Then they wake up, see the clock and get upset that I didn't wake them up sooner. Odd ducks!
